Arepa de Chócolo (Sweet Corn Arepa) in El Poblado
An arepa de chócolo is made from fresh sweet corn instead of dried corn, so it’s softer, slightly sweet and golden. With melted cheese inside, it’s one of Antioquia’s most loved snacks, and at Redman it’s one of the dishes guests mention most.
How we make it
In the Comedor: pure sweet corn, filled with mozzarella and topped with crumbled fresh cheese, crispy bacon and thyme honey, a good size to share as a starter. At La Tienda you’ll find the classic version, with butter, mozzarella and thyme honey.

It goes perfectly with chicharrón. On weekends, have it before the wood-fired sancocho or the bandeja paisa.
