Restaurant with a Terrace in Medellín

Medellín enjoys more than 300 days of good weather a year. With that, eating inside a closed-in restaurant when you could be outdoors feeling the valley breeze feels like a waste. At Redman we understood that from the start: we built two spaces where the terrace isn’t an extra — it’s the heart of the experience.

The Comedor & Bar: A Terrace with Panoramic Valley Views

Redman’s Comedor is located in Los Balsos, one of the highest areas of El Poblado. From its terrace you can take in the full sweep of the Medellín valley — the western mountains, the buildings downtown and, at sunset, one of those skies you only get in this city.

The tables are arranged so every guest has a view. It’s not a restaurant that happens to have a terrace; it’s a terrace designed as a restaurant. The air flows, the temperature is perfect, and the feeling of being in an open space with the city at your feet completely changes the dining experience.

The Comedor is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12pm. At midday, natural light comes in without glare — perfect for business lunches or relaxed family meals. As the afternoon fades, the sunset becomes part of the plan. And at night, the city lights take center stage.

La Tienda: An Open-Air Terrace with a Countryside Feel

La Tienda is the other side of Redman — more relaxed, larger, freer. It’s an open-air space with room for up to 300 people, located at the same Los Balsos venue but with a different concept: here you don’t just come to eat, you come to spend time.

It has green space, room for kids to move around, and an atmosphere that feels more like a paisa country farm than an urban restaurant. On Thursdays and Fridays there’s live music, on weekends people come early for breakfast, and evenings are made for good food and good conversation.

La Tienda is open Tuesday through Saturday from 3pm. It’s the space people choose when they want to be truly outdoors, not seated next to a window pretending.

Why a Terrace Makes the Difference

Most restaurants in El Poblado are in enclosed commercial spaces. Air conditioning, walls, and the same experience you could have in any other city. In Medellín, with this weather, that makes no sense.

Dining on a terrace in Medellín means:

  • Perfect temperatures all year — neither cold nor extreme heat
  • Sunsets over the valley that change every day
  • Real open air, not a backyard turned into a dining room
  • Room to breathe, to talk without shouting, to enjoy

Redman didn’t add a terrace because it was trendy. The terrace is there because the land in Los Balsos allows it — we’re at one of the highest points in El Poblado, and building a closed-in restaurant here would have wasted the location.

Ideal for Every Time of Day

Lunch: The Comedor with its panoramic view. A full menu with premium cuts of beef, ceviches, salads and dishes to share. Ideal for business lunches or family meals.

Sunsets: Some of the best in Medellín are seen from our terrace. Arriving at 5pm for an early dinner while the sun sets over the valley is one of those plans people repeat week after week.

Evenings: La Tienda changes mood. Live music, good food, craft cocktails to go with it, and the feel of a perfect evening outdoors. No street noise, no buses, no honking — just Los Balsos, the breeze and good company.

Weekends: Breakfast from 8am at La Tienda. Families, friends, couples — everyone finds their spot. Kids play in the play area while the grown-ups enjoy a good coffee at their own pace.
