Every Thursday the same question comes up: “What should we do in Medellín this weekend?” Another trip to the mall gets old fast. You want something different — great food, fresh air, a chance to unplug. At Redman, we’ve put together a full weekend plan that runs from breakfast through dinner, all in one place with views of the valley and surrounded by nature in Los Balsos, El Poblado.
Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m.: Countryside Breakfast at La Tienda
The weekend at Redman starts early. From 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, La Tienda de Redman opens with a menu of paisa (Antioquian-style) breakfasts that take you straight to the countryside: calentao (the classic paisa rice-and-beans breakfast hash) with arepa, chicharrón (crispy pork belly) and avocado; arepas de chócolo (sweet corn arepas) with whipped butter and thyme honey; huevitos en cacerola (eggs served in a little clay pot) cooked your way; and our well-loved Popurrí de Arepas (an arepa sampler) to share.
Pair it all with a hot chocolatico (Colombian hot chocolate) or fresh tangerine juice, outdoors in the cool mountain air. Check out the downloadable breakfast menu to see every option.
Lunch: Burgers at the Comedor & Bar
From 12 p.m., the Comedor & Bar opens with one of Medellín’s most talked-about craft burger menus. Try the Redman Trufada with our house truffle sauce, the Bacon Jam with bacon jam, the Pollo Crispy (crispy chicken) with sriracha mayo, or the classic Redman Doble that never misses. Every burger comes with French fries included.
On weekend lunches, El Deck is the go-to spot for families — it sits right next to the play area, and there’s a kids’ activity host on hand. A kids’ menu is available.
Afternoon into Evening: La Tienda with Live Music
La Tienda is where the weekend really comes alive. With room for 300 guests, live music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and a menu of Antioquian picadas (shared platters of grilled meats and bites), it’s made for long afternoons at the table: La Tienda’s chicharrón, morcillita campesina (country-style blood sausage), chinchulines (crispy grilled tripe), ceviches montañeros (our “mountain-style” ceviches), and the signature picada to share — with cocktails, beer or a fresh juice alongside.
It’s a relaxed, open-air spot for a long afternoon, a celebration with friends or a laid-back dinner with live music in the background.
Why Redman Is the Best Weekend Plan
Nature without leaving the city: Los Balsos is surrounded by greenery, with fresh air and views over the valley. It feels like a farm in the Antioquian countryside, yet you’re just minutes from El Poblado.
Two concepts, one place: Countryside breakfast and picadas at La Tienda; craft burgers and cocktails at the Comedor & Bar. No need to go anywhere else.
Something for everyone: Families with kids on El Deck at lunch (with a play area and activity host), couples on the terrace at sunset, and friends at La Tienda enjoying live music into the evening.
4.6 stars on Google with more than 2,700 reviews: Don’t take our word for it — ask the people who keep coming back every weekend.
